Flexidreamer: Sleeping comfort for VIPs

Individually adaptable and aviation certified mattress

Owners of VIP aircraft and first class passengers of commercial airlines can now enjoy a mattress with a level of comfort hitherto unknown in aviation: the Lufthansa Technik AG "Flexidreamer" – a solution that fulfills all the aviation authorities' requirements of cabin furnishings. At the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, the company premiered a variant featuring viscoelastic memory foam in addition to showing traditional models with differing degrees of firmness.

To date, mattresses have either been comfortable, but not usable in aircraft, or suitable for aircraft, but not truly comfortable. Those days are over: the development engineers at Lufthansa Technik's VIP & Executive Jet Solutions now hold a patent that will usher in a new era of comfort when reclining or sleeping in aircraft seats.

The combination of a particularly robust mattress core and a temperature-regulating surface material enables a degree of comfort that passengers have never experienced before. Both individually and together, all the materials fulfill aviation law's demanding standards as regards flammability and burn characteristics. Even the required safety belts can be integrated into the system without any trouble. The mattresses can be manufactured in a variety of sizes, shapes and degrees of firmness.
